Formation of a new district in the State of Arunachal Pradesh – Assignment of Lead Bank Responsibility
In a move to enhance administrative efficiency and financial inclusion, the Government of Arunachal Pradesh has announced the formation of two new districts—Keyi Panyor and Bichom. This was officially notified through Gazette Notification No. Law/Legn-5/2024 dated February 23, 2024.
Following this, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issued Circular No. RBI/2025-26/68 on July 18, 2025, assigning the State Bank of India (SBI) as the Lead Bank for both the newly formed districts.
Here is a summary of the new district-wise lead bank assignments:
